“Mark McEwen was at the top of his game and enjoying life when he suffered a stroke. After 15 years on The Early Show, he had moved to Orlando to anchor the local news and spend more time with his family. While traveling, he experienced symptoms that led him to the hospital. Two days later he suffered a massive stroke on a jet and nearly died. In 2008, America’s beloved weatherman recalled his harrowing journey of rehabilitation from a massive stroke, in the publicly acclaimed book, After the Stroke. Since the release of his book, Mark continues to educate the public on strokes, their symptoms and how to lower the risk for having one. He is a champion for stroke survivors and caregivers, working towards informing, supporting and united resources for all those affected by stroke.”
Mark McEwen is a member of the Central Florida Stroke Club.
